The American rapper known as Yung Bleu was born Jeremy Biddle on April 4, 1994 in Mobile, Alabama. He began rapping at the age of 11, inspired by his brother’s involvement in hip hop battles. In 2013, Yung Bleu made his official debut with the mixtape Investments (2015), followed by Investments 2 in 2016. Each successive installment of the Investments series brought more and more recognition to the young artist, who began releasing his work through Boosie Badazz’s Bad Azz Music Syndicate with the help of Columbia Records. Yung Bleu broke into the mainstream in 2017 with the singles “Miss It” and “Ice on My Baby,” included in the fourth volume of his Investments series. After dropping the R&B-flavored EP Bleu Vandross 2 and Investments 6 in 2020, he ditched Columbia in favor of Empire Distribution. His first release for the label, the EP Love Scars: The 5 Stages of Emotions, saw the light in 2020 and broke into the Billboard 200 chart aided by Drake’s remix of the single “You’re Mines Still.” Preceded by the singles “Thieves in Atlanta” with Coi Leray, “Baddest” with Chris Brown and 2 Chainz, and “Way More Close (Stuck in a Box)” with Big Sean, Yung Bleu’s highly-anticipated debut arrived in 2021 under the title Moon Boy. It peaked at Number 12 on the Billboard 200 and featured guest spots by Drake, Gunna, A Boogie wit da Hoodie, and Kodak Black. He followed up in 2022 with Tantra, which reached Number 99 on the Billboard 200 and Number 48 on the US rap charts. A third album titled Love Scars II was released in April 2023 and debuted on the Billboard 200 at Number 38.
