Craig David's Grenada-born father George played bass with the reggae band Ebony Rockers and David's early musical experiences were accompanying his father to local dance club gigs where he performed at the microphone. His big break came singing with garage act Artful Dodger, achieving a major UK hit in 1999 with the dance track 'Re-Rewind'. On the back of its success he went solo, hitting number one in the UK charts at the age of 19 with 'Fill Me In'. His follow-up single 'Seven Days' was another major success, in both the UK and US, and his debut album 'Born to Do It' sold over seven million copies. His subsequent albums fared less well however, though he had further major hits with 'All the Way' and 'Don't Love You No More (I'm Sorry)' in 2005 and 'Hot Stuff' in 2007. The following year he released a 'Greatest Hits' collection with an album of Motown covers titled 'Signed, Sealed & Delivered' which came out in 2010. In 2012 he co-wrote tracks for Backstreet Boys' 20th anniversary album 'This Is Us'. At the same time he was working on new material of his own which he put out in the record 'Following My Intuition' in 2016. In 2018 he released his seventh album 'The Time Is Now'. The album included the single 'Heartline' and the collaboration with Bastille 'I Know You'.
