Queen Naija Bulls (born on October 17, 1995), or simply Queen Naija, is an American R&B singer-songwriter and social media personality who jumped to fame with her participation in the thirteenth season of reality TV show American Idol. Born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, Bulls started singing and writing her own songs in her early childhood and auditioned for American Idol twice before making the cut in 2014. Following her elimination from the show, she created a video streaming channel named Chris & Queen with then-husband Chris Sails, which quickly amassed millions of subscribers. The couple eventually divorced over a cheating scandal, and Bulls dropped her debut single, “Medicine,” on her own channel in 2017. The song became an Internet sensation and climbed to the top of Billboard’s Adult R&B Songs chart, which prompted Capitol Records to offer her a record deal. Preceded by the chart-topping single “Karma,” her eponymous debut EP entered the Billboard 200 at Number 26 and reached Number 2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. Missunderstood, Bull’s studio debut, saw the light in 2020 and went straight to the top of the US R&B chart aided by the singles “Butterflies Pt.2” and “Lie To Me,” featuring rapper Lil Durk.
