Moneybagg Yo, born Demario DeWayne White on September 22, 1991, is an American rapper hailing from Memphis, Tennessee. He gained a growing fanbase through early mixtapes including From Da Block 2 Da Booth in 2012, La Familia in 2014, and Federal Reloaded in 2016, signing with Collective Music Group and releasing Heartless in 2017 which reached number 177 on the Billboard 200, while collaborative effort 2 Federal reached number 97 later that year. The momentum continued with Federal 3X (2017) which achieved a peak position of number 5, paving the way for debut studio album Reset, reaching number 13. Subsequent records like 43va Heartless (2019) and Time Served (2020) peaked at number 4 and 3 respectively with album single "U Played" making an impact on the pop chart, reaching number 53. 2020 mixtape Code Red featured the hit single "Said Sum," which reached number 17 on the pop chart, becoming his biggest hit at that time. His fourth official album, A Gangsta's Plan, released in April 202, went platinum becoming his first LP to top the main album chart, rap chart, and R&B/Hip-Hop chart simultaneously. The album single "Time Today" returned him to the Top 40, while "Hard for the Next" became his fourth Top 20 rap single. In June 2023, the rapper released Hard to Love" which reached number 10 on the Billboard 200 and number 3 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart.
