Chancellor Bennett is an American rapper, singer, songwriter and activist who is better known by the pseudonym Chance the Rapper. He released his first single 'Windows' in 2011, followed by first mixtape '10 Day' in 2012. He was featured on Childish Gambino's mixtape 'Royalty' in 2012, on the track 'They Don't Like Me'. He then released his second mixtape 'Acid Rap' in 2013, which featured performances by Twista, Vic Mensa, Saba, BJ the Chicago Kid, Action Bronson, Childish Gambino and Ab-Soul. The Mixtape led to considerable acclaim and he began to gain increased attention for his music before embarking on his 'Social Experiment Tour' in the latter half of 2013. In 2015, Bennett was listed at number seven on the 'Forbes 30 Under 30' list. He spoke at various university campuses and released a short film called 'Mr. Happy' on the subject of depression and suicide prevention. In 2016, he was involved with the production of Kanye West's album 'The Life of Pablo', co-writing and performing on several of the tracks including 'Ultralight Beam', 'Famous' and 'Feedback'. Alongside his solo music, Bennett is also a member of the collective SaveMoney and vocalist with the band 'Social Experiment' with whom he released the album 'Surf' in 2015. In 2016, Bennett's third mixtape 'Coloring Book' was an immediate success, and was streamed over 57 million times in the first week of its release. It went on to win three Grammy Awards, becoming the first streaming-only album to win a Grammy Award. It reached number eight in the Billboard Top 200, and led to him becoming even more prominent in mainstream music circles. He was involved in the music for some advertisements in the same year, including one for Nike and one for KitKat. He has also appeared in commercials for Dockers, H&M and Myspace. Bennett is known for being active in supporting the disadvantaged youth in his local Chicago, and has spoken out against issues such as social and racial injustice and gun crime. He identifies as a Christian. Bennett released his first full-length studio album 'The Big Day' in 2019. It is based on his wedding day and contains 22 tracks with collaborations from many different artists such as Nicky Minaj, John Legend, Shawn Mendes, DaBaby and others. It also features his brother Taylor Bennett and his father Ken Bennett.
