Nicki Minaj has reflected on her best fashion moments over the years, revealing that one particular outfit sparked a huge change. The Are You Gone Already rapper shed light on her infamous Met Gala 2022 outfit, after rocking up to the exclusive bash in a stunning strapless black Burberry ball gown, which was adorned with feathers – and accessorized the look with a black hat. Despite looking seriously fierce, the 41-year-old suffered a wardrobe malfunction when she struggled to keep the top of her outfit from slipping down , threatening to expose all. While taking part in Vogue Magazine’s Life In Looks series , the mom-of-one unpacked the evening, and explained that she underwent a breast reduction after seeing the photos. ‘I just realized, just this moment, that actually there was something good that came out of this,’ she said, while analyzing a red carpet shot. ‘It’s what really cemented the fact – for me – that I had to get my breast reduction. ‘I did my fittings and I told them that I loved this hat, I loved what the outfit was giving. But, I said, “You guys, listen, these boobs are going to be spilling out.” ‘By the time we were ready to go, I looked in the mirror and said, “Guys, my boobs are still spilling out.” ‘Naomi Campbell was walking in and out of the room looking at me like, “Girl, let’s go!” ‘I knew, before we even left the room, that the boobs were about to have a night of their own.’ Never one to stay quiet, Nicki addressed the mishap on the night itself , telling Lala Anthony that her look was meant to be slightly less revealing. I love Ricardo, that’s really my friend. So I’m here supporting him, that’s all. But I love the hat. ‘I’m obsessed with the hat. I didn’t want to do the look if I couldn’t do the hat. So, he let me wear the hat.’ The Grammy-winner opened up about going under the knife during her career, and her ‘silly’ desire to want to change her figure, urging fans to love themselves. ‘Recently I had to get a breast reduction, and actually I love it,’ she told Vogue. ‘I used to want a bigger butt, and now I look back and realize how silly that was. ‘So – love your curves, and love your non-curves. There’s nothing wrong with any of it.’ Discussing her own journey with body image, she said that she would ‘pay’ to look like her 25-year-old self now, before adding: ‘But today I can say that I’m at peace with who I am and how I look.’ Got a story?
