The alleged incident happened in 2021.
Lil Wayne is being sued by a former bodyguard who alleged the rapper brandished a gun at him and punched him in the ear, it has been reported. The 41-year-old Lollipop rapper’s former bodyguard told police Wayne threatened to shoot him with a semiautomatic rifle, according to legal documents obtained by TMZ . The claimant, Carlos Christian, said he took Wayne allegedly brandishing the rifle at him seriously because of his past prison stint for weapon charges. In December 2021 Christian called law enforcement claiming the US musician pulled an assault rifle on him during a spat at Wayne’s Hidden Hills, CA house. The bodyguard told police the dispute escalated and became physical, before Wayne got out the AR-15. However, sources close to the rapper deny the incident ever happened, and claim the rapper doesn’t even own a gun. The legal documents reportedly say that the bodyguard lost wages, had medical expenses, and suffered emotional distress as a result of the alleged altercation. He is suing Wayne for compensatory and punitive damages. An insider told TMZ in 2021 the Sucker For Pain musician pulled a gun out after asking the employee to leave his home, but the man decided to go to the bathroom first. After the alleged row, the guard reportedly fled the property and called police from a security hut. Law enforcement officials were said to have arrived on the scene shortly after but Wayne had left. According to the publication, the guard told them that things escalated when his client accused him of leaking photos to the media. However, another source told TMZ that the Grammy winner doesn’t own a weapon – with a law enforcement insider adding that they have ‘issues’ with the guard’s account. In 2020 the star pleaded guilty to possessing a firearm and ammunition after authorities searched his private plane in December 2019. He was due to be sentenced in January 2021, and faced 10 years in prison. However, former US president Donald Trump pardoned him shortly before his sentencing.
