Alvin Aqua Blanco Posted May 3, 2013 More details are emerging surrounding the sudden death of Chris Kelly of Kris Kross According to multiple reports, Kelly aka Mac Daddy had ingested a mixture of coke and heron (speedballs) before his death. Kelly was found unconscious at his Atlanta home before being pronounced dead on May 1 at Atlanta Medical Center. Kellys mother called 911 around 3 p.m. that date seeking assistance. Reports TMZ : When help arrived, paramedics found 34-year-old Kelly lying on the living room couch unresponsive and with no life signs. The medics attempted to revive Kelly, to no avail. Kelly was immediately transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead a few hours later. After the death, cops spoke with Donna Kelly Pratt Chris mother who told police the night before Kellys medical emergency, he had taken a mixture of heroin and cocaine commonly known as speedballs. Donna told police she had personally taken Kelly home to recover from the drug use just as she had done several times before. Donna told cops Kelly had felt nauseous all morning before passing out. According to the report, Kellys mother and Kellys uncle both told investigators the rapper had an extensive history of drug use. E! News reports that an autopsy has been performed and the results of the toxicology report are pending. Jermaine Dupri, who discovered Kris Kross, and Kellys mother both issued statements. JD was devastated, likening the late rapper to a son. To the world, Chris Kelly was MacDaddy but to me he was the son I never had, said the So So Def founder and producer. When I think about it I spent more time with Chris and Chris than damn near anybody in my whole life, so you can imagine how bad this hurts. According to TMZ , it seemed like the substance abuse issue were behind Kelly, but the recent So So Def reunionled to a relapse and a return bad habits. After the reunion Kelly was momentarily back in the spotlight and with some money in his pocket was back to partying and hanging out. Read more
