A trailer for the documentary was released by ABC News Studios, including rappers such as Fat Joe and Killer Mike commenting on the trial and discussing rappers freedom of speech rights. Others in the documentary include Young Thugs ex-girlfriend, Jerrick Karlae, and Kevin Liles, the 300 Entertainment CEO. In the past, Liles gave testimonyfor Young Thugs freedom and started a petitionto prevent rap lyricsfrom being used in court. Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis said she would still be willingto use Young Thugs lyrics for the trial. For Young Thug and Gunna, a series of events unfolded while both were incarcerated or on trial. Young Thugs bail was denied three times and he was also hit with street racing chargesbefore the trial began. The Surf rapper was also accused of making a drug dealin court with another YSL defendant after he was handed a percocet. Gunna was also accused of smuggling drugs while in jail, which caused his bail to be later denied. In December 2022, the Pushin P rapper was released from jailafter taking a plea deal but was labeled a snitch by the rap community.
